Description
The author discusses numerous lies and bizarre statements that have been made by militant atheists over the years. For example, Charles Darwin said once that when "higher races" exterminate "lower races," that is "the progress of civilization." He saw nothing wrong with it. He also said, in chapter 6 of his book "The Descent of Man," that blacks are more closely related to gorillas than white people are. The militant atheist Richard Dawkins has written that Hitler was a Catholic while he was dictator, but that is a lie. The truth is that in 1930, the pope declared that Catholics were not allowed to belong to the Nazi Party, so if Hitler was a Catholic, why did he not quit the Nazi Party in 1930? The answer is obvious: Hitler was not a Catholic. None of his biographers report that he ever attended church services or went to confession in his adult life, nobody ever saw him pray or read the Bible, and he had thousands of Catholic priests and nuns arrested, so how could he have been a Catholic? Dawkins also claims that the Bosnian War was caused by religion. The truth is that Slobodan Milosevic, the Serb dictator who started the war, was an atheist. He was a high-ranking man in the Yugoslav Communist Party for years when it required its members to be atheists. Somehow, Dawkins fails to notice that. The militant atheist Christopher Hitchens wrote that Christianity "imposed" slavery on the United States. That is nonsense. Slavery was caused by greed, not religion, and it existed long before Christianity did. Hitchens also claimed that a Catholic bishop named Augustin Misago committed mass murder during the Rwanda genocide. The truth is that Misago was tried by the International Tribunal and acquitted. Hitchens claims the Crimean War was caused by religion. There is not one single historian who believes that. It occurred because the French and the British wanted to maintain the balance of power in Europe and therefore wanted to stop Russia from annexing territory from the Ottoman Empire. Carl Sagan, an atheist, once said that American school boards are run by people who are intentionally making the public schools lousy so the American people will be too stupid to question authority. He presented no evidence to support this paranoid conspiracy theory. The militant atheist Sam Harris has said that he wants to legalize heroin, cocaine, LSD and amphetamines. He also blames Christianity for the Holocaust, but he fails to name even one high-ranking person in Hitler's government who was a Christian, because there weren't any. He also fails to mention any Christian bishop or theologian who ever advocated exterminating the Jews, because there weren't any of those either. On page 102 of his book "The End of Faith," he says some German writers in the nineteenth century advocated exterminating the Jews, but he doesn't say any of them were Christians, which means he was tacitly admitting that they were not, yet he fails to understand that this means atheism, not Christianity, led to the Holocaust. Harris also can't bear to admit that the atheist Stalin murdered millions of people by starvation, so he falsely claims that those people died because Stalin believed a grossly mistaken agricultural theory. Every historian who has studied the subject knows that is not true. Harris also claims that there were pogroms in Poland in the 1930s prior to the Nazi invasion, but the book he cites in support of this claim does not say that. And amazingly, Edward O. Wilson, the famous atheist biology professor, said in his book "Consilience" that morality is just whatever most people say it is, and that people have the right to change the rules of morality whenever they feel like it. This means that Wilson thinks even genocide would be morally permissible, if most of the people on Earth supported it. The book contains many, many more amazing facts such as this.
